In August 2004, Integrity Worship Ministries held its first Integrity Worship Institute in Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei is a beautiful city; clean and modern, with a population of 7 million. Taiwan has a total population of approximately 23 million. However, there are only about 600,000 Christians on the island, approximately 3% of the population. The island has the highest percentage of people engaged in idol worship in the world. .
The 700+ pastors, worship leaders, and worship team members in attendance were from 250 different churches of various denominational affiliation from all over Taiwan, (including some indigenous aboriginal Taiwanese), as well as from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and mainland China. This was the largest IWM international event to date.
We praise God for the continued open door of ministry in Taiwan and are thankful that He is raising up many in that country who will impact the Mandarin-speaking world through praise and worship.
